Joining baby modeling agents

Do you have a pretty baby?  Do they have the qualities to be a baby model?  If the answer a definite OF COURSE, then the next thing that you’ll require is a baby modeling agent.
Many parents seem to believe that they can go this alone and elude paying anyone a share of the money.  It is true, it’s your baby’s picture that is on the cover, and it’s you and your yours that travel between the casting and photo shoots.  This can be irritating to see the amount of income that the agencies receive.
However the basic reality is that an agent will offer you a lot more work and thus a lot more income than going it alone.  thereby making the money paid out as an extremely good investment.

As well as this any good agent will bring with them a lot of key know-how and familiarity with the field.  Be careful of underestimating this knowledge, as it makes a big difference.  A good agent will have an investment in your childs success so will guide your baby so that your chances of gaining jobs are at their best.  Your agent will know the industry and they know what does and does not lead to success.

So what makes an agent a valuable resource:

The agent will have connections throughout the industry and can thus find you work that rarely appear in the public realm.  In fact there are some clients prefer to work solely with particular agents or agencies and therefore give you a privileged entry point. 

A lot of agents know the industry from personal experience as they were models themselves and know exactly what is needed to make it. 

The difference in working with private agents over agencies is that the way they work is usually more personal and your chances of getting shoots are significantly increased as their commissions are sourced from a select set of babies.  It is therefore quite important that you opt for an agency that is experienced enough to have established itself in the baby modeling field but not so big as to lose sight of your baby.
I think the best agents are fast moving but straightforward.  They will tell you  how it is and will take you far if you are willing to keep pace.  But at the same time they will also note quickly if you do not have the dedication and will put their efforts in elsewhere.  So if you want it, really WANT it.
